These Boots Are Made For Walking

Dress: Miss Selfridge, Boots: Deichmann (similar), Hat: M&S (similar), Coat: ASDA (old), Rings: Urban Outfitters (similar)

Autumn has to be one of my favourite times of the year. I love everything about Autumn, from the crisp cool mornings, to the crunching of leaves underfoot, to stuffing my face with Halloween sweeties! What I also love about Autumn is the fashion. Big warm knits, cosy hats, knee high boots, you name it, I've gotta have it.

This outfit features an item of clothing that I'd had my eyes on for a while, the knee high boot. The knee high boot has seen a resurgence into fashion, thanks in large part to the 60s and 70s trends, with celebrities and bloggers donning their knee highs and making everyone envious by how effortlessly cool they look. Purchasing knee high boots was something I was a little bit unsure about, for, as a girl of mere 5"1' proportions, I didn't want them to hit me at an awkward point. I'd also had my eye on heeled boots, but thought that with running around campus, flats would be more practical.

And let me tell you, I'm so glad I bought these boots from Deichmann! Not only are they a good fit and super comfy, but they make me look slightly more put together when trudging to a 9AM lecture, whilst my heart screams for another cup of coffee and my jammies.

I chose to pair my boots with this khaki shirt dress that I picked up from Miss Selfridge, which is a shop that I've really been growing to love recently. Usually I find Miss Selfridge just a tad expensive for my meagre student budget, but with student discount and mid-season sales, I managed to pick up this dress for around £26, which I thought was a steal considering the normal retail price is £42.

Finally, no Autumn outfit up North would be complete without a coat and fluffy hat, things are getting a tad too chilly up here to be walking around without protection! I've had this coat for around four years now, and its finally lost all its buttons, so I'm in dire need of a new one, does anyone have any good coat shop/style recommendations?
