Fountains and Fringe

I often find we don't appreciate the places we live in until we have someone to visit who has never been before. That's when we crack out the travel guides and our knowledge of the best days out, best pubs and restaurants, and start to explore our homes again. This is what happened to me last week when my boyfriend came to visit me at home in Northumberland.

Having met at Uni, and being a Londoner, he hadn't really been up North at all, and had never set foot in Newcastle or the surrounding county of Northumberland which I call home. So I planned a whistle stop tour of the North, visiting the villages around my house, Newcastle, and Alnwick, which is the perfect day out with its castle and gardens.

Of course whilst wandering around the castle and its spectacular grounds, I couldn't help but take a couple of outfit snaps. I picked up these high waisted jeans from New Look after having purchased an abundance of crop tops that I had nothing to go with. Being short with a narrow waist, high-waisted jeans are always slightly big on me, but these jeans are super comfy and aren't too big around the waist either. I paired them with a 70s inspired crop top, fringe bag and gladiator sandals, which may have been a tad optimistic in the unpredictable Northern weather.

  1. I absolutely love that outfit, it's so pretty! I hope you both enjoyed the tour of the north! I'd love to go back to Alnwick, such an incredible place.

    1. Thank you, Alnwick is really beautiful, I think the boyfriend liked it, it's all a lot more green up north than his hometown of London H xx
