A Weekend in Bristol

Last weekend I took a trip down to Bristol to go check out the University, and what can I say? Bristol is a lovely city, filled with street art, wall murals and home to the reclusive Banksy. A quayside lined with restaurants, cafes and bars and an array of shops, Bristol's got it all. The University was pretty grand too, with a collection of beautiful buildings and parks.

After a nine hour car journey to the hotel (thats what happens when the M6 closes) me and Mum went on the hunt for some dinner and came across The Cuban Bristol. Great Cuban food, cocktails and a live band it was as if we had stepped into a Havana Club. After our meal we just strolled the streets and I loved all the old fashioned shops down secret alleyways and how people just sat by the water and talked.

Unfortunately our hotels aircon was broken, so after a super hot night we just needed to do a bit of shopping and Bristol has a pretty impressive array of shops with Bristol's Cabot Circus, as well as shops such as Harvey Nichols making an appearence.

What can I say? Bristol is a lovely city steeped in history and culture, with great restuarants, bars and shops as well as a vibrant student life. I would highly recommend a weekend away in Bristol, and can't wait to return there soon.
